| | Individuals who have time to share are invited to attend a Stretch Your Heart Training and learn the Stretch Your Heart story. No experience is required, just an interest in helping others. There is no commitment to become a volunteer by attending the training. When Volunteer Training is completed, an interview is scheduled to discuss the volunteer's areas of interest and expertise. In addition to working with individuals, families and groups, SYH volunteers also provide support in the office, at fairs, in parades and with community education & programs.
Volunteers are a special group of people. They volunteer their time, their hands and a warm heart. They expect nothing in return other than knowing they helped another human being. Listening is the greatest skill volunteers can offer to individuals and families. Being there when called upon creates a memorable relationship. Outstanding volunteers are honored with a certificate of appreciation.
